Due to unprecedented and unforeseen circumstances of a countrywide lockdown, Aotearoa New Zealand has turned to Sustaining the Local, our local. The Central’s annual group show welcomes an array of new and familiar faces, delivering a high calibre of work.
You will find a new painting by Michael Hight, symbolising the Ashburton River / Hakatere region, delicate renditions of Bing Dawe’s family galaxiidae and Ōhinehou Lyttelton local, Asher Newbery, who’s works consider notions of life, astronomy and the earth.
Exhibiting artists include, Michael Hight, Asher Newbery, Bing Dawe, David Murray, Jon Jeet, Kulimoe’anga Stone Maka, Neil Dawson, Fiona Van Oyen, Pete wheeler, Emma Camden, Larisse Hall and Simon Edwards.
